Steve Selected to Present March 2016 Webinar for ACFE
On March 31 Steve presented the March 2016 Webinar for the ACFE. The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners chooses one speaker each month to present on a fraud related topic. Steve’s presentation, titled “Managing Client Emotions: The Softer Side of Fraud Examinations,” discussed the various emotions fraud examiners can encounter throughout an engagement, and how they are best handled. Steve will also be presenting this topic at the 27th Annual Global Fraud Conference in June in Las Vegas.
Rhiannon Wins CT ACFE Scholarship
Congratulations to Rhiannon Crawford, Staff Forensic Accountant at Forensic Accounting Services, for her recent scholarship. In January 2016, Rhiannon was awarded the CT Association of Certified Fraud Examiner’s (ACFE) annual scholarship, which includes the CFE exam prep course and the CFE exam fees. She plans to begin studying right away. Congratulations, Rhiannon!

On October 16, 2015 Steve spoke about Creating Knowledge in the Classroom: Applications and Teaching of Forensics in Business at the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Region 1 Fall Conference, which was held at University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford.

Walking with Purpose
The firm decided to divide and conquer over the weekend to participate in events supporting two great causes on Sunday September 20, 2015. Steve and his wife Kim were in Hartford at the 2015 Walk to End Alzheimer’s, held annually to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Justine, with her fiancée Dan and parents Mike and Denise was joined by Rhiannon and her daughter Scarlett in East Hartford at the 2nd Annual Believe 208: Run for the Brave & Finest in memory of Police Officer Paul Buchanan. Believe 208 seeks to increase awareness of the unique challenges facing first responders and to be a trusted, influential source for first responders and their families. Proceeds from the race help to fund education and training efforts in addition to providing resources to officers in need.
