Walking with Purpose
The firm decided to divide and conquer over the weekend to participate in events supporting two great causes on Sunday September 20, 2015. Steve and his wife Kim were in Hartford at the 2015 Walk to End Alzheimer’s, held annually to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Justine, with her fiancée Dan and parents Mike and Denise was joined by Rhiannon and her daughter Scarlett in East Hartford at the 2nd Annual Believe 208: Run for the Brave & Finest in memory of Police Officer Paul Buchanan. Believe 208 seeks to increase awareness of the unique challenges facing first responders and to be a trusted, influential source for first responders and their families. Proceeds from the race help to fund education and training efforts in addition to providing resources to officers in need.
Rhiannon Earns Accounting Degree
Rhiannon Crawford, a new staff accountant at Forensic Accounting Services LLC, recently earned her Accounting degree from Manchester Community College. She was recognized with a Connecticut Board of Regents Award for Higher Education for her outstanding achievements. Rhiannon plans to work towards her Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license over the next year while training as a forensic accountant. Congratulations, Rhiannon!
UConn 2015 Scholarship & MSA Professor of the Year
On April 23, 2015, Steve attended the annual Awards Banquet for the Department of Accounting at UConn. He presented Forensic Accounting Services’ annual forensic accounting scholarship to Samantha Welch. Samantha is a sophomore accounting student who is Secretary of the UConn Accounting Society and has a strong interest in pursuing a career in the field of forensic accounting.
Steve was also recognized during the ceremony for being named the 2014-2015 MSA Professor of the Year for the UConn School of Business. Steve has taught his forensic accounting course at UConn for almost 10 years.

Glastonbury High School Career Fair 2015
Justine attended the Glastonbury High School 2015 Career Fair on April 10th as a representative of the field of accounting and forensic accounting. The event was sponsored by the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce and held at the high school. Students were able to visit the booths of careers they may have an interest in or questions about. Students brought many great questions about what it is like to be an accountant and how forensic accounting is different from traditional accounting.
Junior Achievement 2015
Steve and Justine volunteered as instructors for Junior Achievement at Assumption School of Manchester on March 25, 2015. Justine taught first and second grade students about communities, jobs, business, even taxes! Steve worked with seventh and eighth grade students focusing on careers, goals, professionalism and branding.
