Tonight’s search, much like every night’s search, produced pages of news articles regarding employee embezzlements – just from today.
I have been reading news articles on employee embezzlements pretty much every night for the past few weeks using Google News – keyword “embezzlement.” Staggering to me is that every night the entire first page of search results is just articles that hit the press today.
As I read each article I see the same schemes over and over, and tonight’s results were no different. I also look at the period of the theft versus the period discovered and adjudicated.
The question that is hard to answer is this… is there more instances of theft and embezzlement today, or has it always existed at an alarming level but went undetected in the past.
